LeSalon is a premium on-demand mobile beauty app that delivers high-quality beauty treatments to customer’s homes and offices across London.

They also play a huge role in championing beauty therapists working in the gig economy by creating viable careers for them while offering technical training, financial advice and the highest rate of commission in the industry.

What's behind the name, LeSalon?

The name itself comes from a french background: “salon” in french means “living room” in english. The idea that you can have the 5* salon experience right in the comfort of your own living room.

How do beauty and skincare treatments overlap with self care and wellness?

At LeSalon, we believe that beauty and wellness are interconnected. Many people often lack the time to properly take care of themselves - whether that’s because they’re prioritising their job or their family and this can, sometimes, have a negative impact on your own wellbeing.

Beauty treatments aren't necessarily about looking good, but how you feel after: it can give you the confidence to do whatever you want and this has a positive impact on your life.

What are your top tips to fit in beauty and skincare into the busy schedules of modern life?

Everyone is busy so it is important to prioritise those treatments that allow you to feel your best. While for some it might be a fresh manicure for others it might be a lash lift that makes all the difference.

The best home skincare results come from using the products that work best for your skin in a regular and consistent way - making sure that you remove your makeup and cleanse your face each day is as vital. The key is to make it into a habit - like brushing your teeth.

Name the top must-dos for beauty and skin health in colder seasons.

  1. Hands are high risk for being chapped and dry during the winter months, so it’s important to moisturise them frequently. Using cuticle oil and a gentle moisturiser daily will help prevent your hands and nails from getting dry. I recommend investing in a small tube of hand lotion that you can keep in your handbag so you can apply it whenever you need.
  2. Swap your skincare routine with gentler and more hydrating products: Cold weather can take out a lot of moisture from your skin, so using moisturising products will keep your skin nourished and healthy. Face wipes, hot showers and harsh products can strip your skin from its natural oils.
  3. Drink lots of water!

What are some of the best tips and tricks to care for your skin health?

There’s so many new products coming out within the beauty industry that it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed with what your skin needs. The most important thing that you can do for your skin health is to look after your body from the inside.

This means drinking enough water every day, eating a well-balanced diet (veggies and fruits!) and exercising regularly.

In terms of beauty products, the issue I always come down to is hydration - especially during the winter months where your skin is more prone to become dry and cracked. Making sure you moisturise your face, body, and hands is super important and can really make a difference to your skin health.

Why are sustainable, clean beauty products important for your Salonettes?

Working with products on a professional basis means that our Salonettes are exposed to many toxic elements on a daily basis, so it is important to reduce the risk of exposure whenever possible. This is why many of our therapists choose to use Nailberry polishwhich is free from 12 of the toxins commonly found in nail polish.

We all seek to be informed and knowledgeable about the products we use and work with to ensure that we can provide a sustainable option whenever possible.

What are the hottest treatment trends in London?

  • Brow lamination is a huge trend at the moment! It involves perming your brow hairs to create a long-lasting, feathered brow. Lifting the eyebrows can have an anti aging effect.
  • While lockdown has seen a reduction in the sale of make up there has been a massive boost in sales of at home spa tools and serums with niacinamide serum leading the pack which is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion

  • At LeSalon, we have seen an increase in the volume of massage bookings. Clients are looking to destress and relax but feel more comfortable to have the treatment in their home with one of our therapists

When lockdown ends, how can people book on-demand beauty treatments?

Our app is incredibly easy to use! We have a variety of highly-trained freelance therapists who decide what hours they want to work, where they want to work and what treatments they want to provide.

As a customer, all you have to do is choose your most preferred treatments (or treatments), find a time and date that suits you the best, and then we’ll match you with the best Salonette available.

Now, all you have to do is wait for your treatment.

On the day of your appointment, your Salonette will arrive at your chosen destination with all the equipment they need to carry out your treatment.

What's the perk of having beauty treatments at home?

The main perk of having beauty treatments at home is the convenience. Many of our customers are busy Londoners - often mums - who don’t necessarily have the time to go to the salon, or physically can’t, perhaps because:

  • Someone needs to look after the kids
  • Only have spare time for early morning or evening appointments, when many salons are closed

Our 'Salonettes' offer various times from 6 AM to 11 PM, which allows us to fit into the customer’s schedule, rather than them fitting into ours. In addition, enjoying the treatment at home allows for a more relaxed experience - you can watch TV and have a glass of wine while having your manicure.
